Over the last two sessions, I've been creating layered linoprints. I've created linoprints before, but this technique used two layers to create the outcome, instead of one. To begin, I sketched out my ideas. I had varying designs at first, some were landscapes, some were streets, some were objects. The flowers in their different stages of growth represent how I changed throughout the uncertainty of the pandemic, and how walking helped me through it.
I used pink ink for my first layer, with the idea that I'd use blue as the second layer. I printed a total of 10. I carved a basic silhouette of flowers to represent the flowers and greenery I found on my walks, especially during the spring.
After printing copies of the first layer, I carved into the lino to create a second layer to go over the pink layer and began rolling blue ink and printing!
Some didn't go to plan, but some worked well! I tried placing my paper on the press and laying my lino over the the top which helped me to get accurate prints. However, the ones that were slightly off centre appeal to me most.

Afterwards, I created some mock ups of a few products using my flower reduction print:

I love that you used the flower as a symbol of your growth through the Pandemic, symbolic to of your growth and being in touch with nature in the pre ious hours we were allowed to leave the house to exercise. Love the Lino prints! 😍
