Gemma Correll is an English cartoonist and illustrator who creates comics about mental health and lifestyle. As a writer with a BA in Graphic Design, she's published her own comics and books. Correll caught my eye when I her illustrated fashion diary, 'What I Wore Today'. Since I am doing the same, but with socks, I decided to learn more about her, and take inspiration from her fashion drawings.
I've been aware of her work for a while. Her art style is very simple, with bold outlines and minimal colours; it reminds me of Nick Sharrat, an illustrator who illustrated books for Jaqueline Wilson, Jeremy Strong and Kes Grey. He was an inspiration to me when I was young, so it's great to see someone with a similar art style!
